Cydney Sweeney

A native Texan born in San Antonio, Cydney Sweeney believes one of the best ways to empower children is through promoting health and wellness. Cydney received her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition with a concentration in Exercise Science from Abilene Christian University. She has experience working as; a Dietetic Technician at a post-acute long-term care hospital, a sports nutrition intern for a semi-professional team, a wellness coach with the YMCA, and has many additional roles in the community involving nutrition and fitness for individuals of all ages. She is also a former student-athlete and competed in track and field, basketball, and soccer. From an early age, Cydney recognized the connection between health and lifestyle and knew she wanted to dedicate her career to enhancing the lives of the community through nutrition. She maintains membership in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and is a member of the Collegiate and Professional Sports Dietitians Association. She is actively involved in her church’s healthcare ministry, as well as being on the youth and collegiate leadership team. Currently, she is enrolled in the University of Alabama’s Distance Dietetic Program as she continues her pursuit in obtaining her registered dietitian license. Cydney finds joy in cooking and teaching others culinary nutrition principles in conjunction with the CHEF foundation’s philosophy to “cook well, eat well, and live well”.
