San Antonio Botanical Garden
The CHEF Teaching Kitchen, part of the newly expanded area at the San Antonio Botanical Garden, provides children and their families with the opportunity to engage in a unique farm-to-table experience. In each CHEF class, students are invited to out into the Culinary Garden to pick the herbs, fruits, and vegetables they will use in their recipe. Not only does this provide children insight into where their food comes from, it also teaches them about eating seasonally.
Taught by a Le Cordon Bleu trained Chef, CHEF classes at the Botanical Garden teach students the fundamentals of cooking, the science of nutrition, and deepen the connection between gardening and healthy eating.
In addition to regular programming, CHEF at the Botanical Garden also offers special events, culinary camps, and field trips.
