The CHEF Community

CHEF, the culinary nutrition education program of the San Antonio Food Bank, is part of a wide network of community partner organizations who work together to ensure that CHEF programming and resources are available throughout Southwest Texas. These partners support and/or offer CHEF programming for the general population and work together to promote nutritious food and home cooking as key ingredients in the recipe for life-long health and wellness.

In 2023, CHEF became part of the San Antonio Food Bank as their culinary nutrition education program. This partnership will allow programming to grow exponentially into additional communities in Southwest Texas.

Founded in 1980, the San Antonio Food Bank is a 501c3 non-profit organization providing millions of pounds of food to more than 500 charitable organizations in Southwest Texas serving those in need. In addition to food distribution, the San Antonio Food Bank provides numerous programs that not only solve the immediate problems of hunger, but help individuals and families gain long-term food security.
