The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio
The CHEF Teaching Kitchen at The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio provides patients with hands-on culinary medicine classes to help manage a variety of diagnoses and dietary needs. Patients must be referred to classes at The Children’s Hospital by a healthcare provider, registered dietitian, or school nurse. CHEF classes, free of charge to patients and their families, are approximately an hour and a half in length and include a cooking demonstration, hands-on culinary experience, and nutrition education. Afternoon, evening, and Spanish classes are available.
If you are a physician or provider and would like to refer a patient to the CHEF program, download and complete the referral form and fax it to 210-704-2375. The CHEF Team will call and schedule the class (appointment) with your patient directly. If you are already part of the CHRISTUS Santa Rosa network , you can access a CHEF referral through Athena.
Address: 333 N Santa Rosa St, San Antonio, Texas, 78207, United States. The CHEF Teaching Kitchen is located on the first floor of the hospital, next to the cafeteria.
