Raquel DeHoyos

Manager of Schools and Community Engagement

Raquel DeHoyos is a former personal chef, nutrition and cooking instructor and food photographer with family roots in Laredo, Texas. With over a decade of culinary experience in the restaurant industry and having worked for non-profits advocating for issues of food access in the Pacific Northwest, Raquel has returned to Texas and continues to follow her passion to help connect families with valuable health and food resources. She is an advisory board member of the El Centro de Laredo’s Farmer’s Market, a community garden volunteer with Laredo Center for Urban Agriculture & Sustainability’s (LCUAS) Canseco & Hillside gardens, and a member of Laredo’s Food Policy Council. She is also the owner of La Bodega Del Cuervo, which offers allergy-friendly, gluten, dairy and sugar free baked goods, providing healthier options for those in her South Texas community. Raquel is incredibly excited to be joining the CHEF team to further its mission to help create healthy families and communities here in San Antonio.
